action

I'm still trying to understand the inner workings of my DSLR, and this weekend I focused (get it, focused!) on capturing action. The first time I tried, in automatic mode, I got this:

Not good. This time I put it in manual mode and played around with the aperture and shutter speeds. Now these are a lot better!

My favorite composition

This was right before I got thwarted in the leg with the ball.

I think I'm figuring it out a little bit, although I still have a long way to go. I want to master the technicalities first, and then I plan on really focusing on composition. If you have any feedback or pointers, please feel free to share!
